Our theme for the month of September was “In and Around the Garden” to celebrate the arrival of Spring. We learned about birds and insects and the value they add to our world. Some of the classes learned new songs relating to the theme and we played games. Below some examples of the lovely artwork we did this month.

As a part of the theme for the month, we planted a succulent garden to learn about different types of plants and how they grow and how to be water-wise. Each of the children brought their own succulent and planted it themselves and every month we will watch how they grow.

September was also Heritage Month and we had a Heritage fun day on Wednesday the 23rd. Everyone dressed up in costumes representing their heritage and we ate Boerewors and Pap and Sauce and some delicious milktart that the teachers made. We painted flags on our faces and made our own South African flag with our handprints!

Summer is coming and we are all looking forward to having lots of fun in the October sunshine next month !!
